What's blooming in my garden already?
Puppies
These are Sophie and Willie's two babies that still need homes.
I call this little girl "Miss Piggy" because she is the largest of the three puppies and she is always eating! She has a great personality and is very outgoing.

This little male I've been calling "Boyo" and he comes when I call him. Pretty amazing for seven weeks old. You can see how tiny he is as he just fits in my hand. The same size Sophie was when I got her.

My Two Little Buddies
This is Willie who weighs about 5 pounds.

This is Sophie. Normally she's around 5 pounds as well but she'll be having puppies around Feb 28th. She's also badly in need of a trim so is extra 'fluffy'.

The proud 'parents' together. It was difficult getting the two of them to hold still long enough to get a shot!

My Cherry Tree Is Blooming
It's a huge tree. You can't really tell here...looking through the branches to the sky.
There are lots of big old limbs. I'm going to need a ladder to get the cherries.
This one is taken from my East facing bedroom window. So many blooms!
Here you can see the roof of my carport in the lower center, my fence, and my neighbour's garage. It gives you a better idea of the size of the tree.

The Greening of My Garden
One of several rhodo bushes in my yard. It will be interesting to see the colours of the others.
I was ready to rip this plant out thinking it's broom but I've learned that it's not, so it stays.
These are growing in what is just a crack in the cement.
I don't know what this is but green flowers are so cool.
One of three peony bushes that's coming along. Also bleeding hearts plant.

Progress is being made in my loft bedroom. First the carpeting was ripped out leaving these antique tiles revealed.

Then I ordered and picked up the flooring material from a local mill.

The installer arrived early this morning and....the puppies are inspecting the completed floor this evening.

It looks a little like a bowling alley in there but there is plenty of space for a king size bed beyond the railing to the right. There's another half of the room that isn't in the photo.

Puppies have seen enough and are heading down the stair.

The installer is back tomorrow to sand it and put the first coat of the finish on.

Early March, flowers started showing up in my garden.

This is my beautiful and functional compost bin. I need to do some work here.

Herb garden residents. More work to be done here.

The deck off of my living room...and it's south/west facing and gets lots of sun. I'm thinking about an awning.

I'm looking forward to seeing what grows on the vine on the arbour.

The setting of the sun was so interesting today. I ran upstairs to take photos three times. It has been mostly a cloudy day. It rained in the morning but since then has only been cloudy, with the clouds moving to the north. I've watched them blowing by all day and was surprised to get a glimpse of the sun late in the day.
At 7:06 pm the sky was quite dark and foreboding with just a hint of sun.

By 7:16 pm the sky was lightening up and beginning to glow.

And finally, at 7:23 pm...this...

How fortunate I am to live here on the edge of the Pacific.
